What does a truck full of stuff being given away to charity have to do with your business success?
A lot actually.
July 4th has come and gone and we are officially now into the last half of this year. What this means is that the due dates for those goals you set in January are coming sooner than you think.
Where are you with your progress in reaching those goals?
Do you feel like you are moving towards them at a pace that can get you to the finish line in time? Or, have you experienced some setbacks and challenges that might delay reaching your goals?
While you're pondering the progress of your goals, I'd like to invite you to also consider how you're feeling about where you sit with your business right now.
Are you feeling confident, happy, and positive about your current state of business, or are you feeling unsure, stressed, and overwhelmed with everything on your plate?
More on that in a moment, but for now, let's circle back to the picture of the truck filled with bags of stuff for charity, and talk about how it directly impacts your business success.
All those bags of stuff happen to be all the things that are cluttering your life and workspace - distracting you and draining attention from your goals.
Those bags also represent the list of tasks you're doing for your own business.
Now, let me ask you: Is that list filled with tasks that will actually help you reach your goals, or is it sprinkled with superfluous things that are weighing you down, filling your day with busywork that actually won't help you reach your goals?
It's OK, this is what happens to us all.
Life gets in the way - customers, clients, contractors, staff, family.... all of a sudden we go from a clear perspective of what we want to accomplish and how we're going to get it done to a list of tasks that spread us thin, create confusion, and rob us of precious time to do what matters most.
So, how do we fix this and realign ourselves?
You're reading and realizing that you need to do an assessment and make some adjustments. Really, that's the hardest part. Most of us get so swept up in our day-to-day tasks that they don't realize they've ventured from the path of productivity and into the land of overwhelm.
Do your goals from the beginning of the year still hold the same value to you right now, today? If so, great! If not, reassess and adjust them.
Do your daily activities bring you the highest return on investment and bring you closer to your goals? Anything that isn't the best use of your time should either be outsourced or placed lower in your list of priorities.
While reviewing this, you may also want to look and reexamine your team. Is it just you marching along trying to conquer the world alone, or do you have people behind you helping you reach your summit?
It's important you have a team helping you. No great achievement in this world has been done alone by any man or woman. Each achievement big and small has had a team of people working together to make that happen.
Who is on your team?
Are they best suited to get you there, on time and without issue? If not or if you're trying to go at it alone, you may want to consider hiring a full-service agency.
A full-service agency can help you reach those goals without the hassle, costly mistakes, and delays that come with trying to Frankenstein together a band of freelance contractors and team members that likely will not work well together.

Lastly, let's get back to all that stuff in the picture.
All that stuff was given to charity.
This is essential - giving back is important in everything you do. It's not just about doing what's best for you but also best for your clients/customers and others who can benefit from you indirectly.
Always seek to do the best in everything you do to help as many as possible.
Gratitude, appreciation and giving back without expecting any personal payback always ends up paying you the biggest in dividends for your soul, mind and in everything in your life.
I hope this has added some value to your day.
Take a moment, review where you are with your goals, and see how you can adjust to get to where you wish to be by the end of this year. If you want assistance, please contact my agency and see how we might help you. Whatever you do, make sure it's what most important to you, your business and what makes you happy.
Wishing you a strong remainder of your year.
