What does a truck full of stuff being given away to charity have to do with your business success?

July 4th has come and gone and we are officially now into the last half of this year. What this means is that the due dates for those goals you set in January are coming sooner than you think.
Where are you with your progress in reaching those goals?
Do you feel like you are moving towards them at a pace that can get you to the finish line in time? Or, have you experienced some setbacks and challenges that might delay reaching your goals?

Now, let me ask you: Is that list filled with tasks that will actually help you reach your goals, or is it sprinkled with superfluous things that are weighing you down, filling your day with busywork that actually won't help you reach your goals?
It's OK, this is what happens to us all.
Life gets in the way - customers, clients, contractors, staff, family.... all of a sudden we go from a clear perspective of what we want to accomplish and how we're going to get it done to a list of tasks that spread us thin, create confusion, and rob us of precious time to do what matters most.
So, how do we fix this and realign ourselves?
You're reading and realizing that you need to do an assessment and make some adjustments. Really, that's the hardest part. Most of us get so swept up in our day-to-day tasks that they don't realize they've ventured from the path of productivity and into the land of overwhelm.
Do your goals from the beginning of the year still hold the same value to you right now, today? If so, great! If not, reassess and adjust them.
Do your daily activities bring you the highest return on investment and bring you closer to your goals? Anything that isn't the best use of your time should either be outsourced or placed lower in your list of priorities.
While reviewing this, you may also want to look and reexamine your team. Is it just you marching along trying to conquer the world alone, or do you have people behind you helping you reach your summit?
